Recently, at a 2024 China Cement Dual Carbon Conference, Li Jiahui, deputy general manager of Zhuji and Chuang Motor, shared the "Energy-saving transformation application of permanent magnet direct drive motor system in the cement industry". Li pointed out that the current transmission chain of cement equipment has several issues, such as a long transmission chain that leads to low transmission efficiency and bulky structure. Moreover, maintenance work mainly focuses on gear-related equipment, and the independent design and manufacturing of various components increase manufacturing costs and maintenance complexity.
Li highlighted that the permanent magnet direct-drive motor system effectively addresses these problems. By directly connecting the motor to the load, this system eliminates the intermediate transmission links found in the traditional "asynchronous motor + hydraulic coupling + gearbox" configuration, simplifying the transmission chain and enhancing reliability and cost-effectiveness.
According to Li, the permanent magnet direct-drive motor offers the following advantages:
